What’s on my mind devotionally

What a disaster before me! I might have thought of a gospel verse because of hearing about all the slew of events taking place in the world and how the world is crumbling but is this a reaction to media input or reality. Not only are there stories on major disasters, but people caught up in the middle of them.

Whatever it was, it seems everyone me included are scurrying about concerned about this life because of something. I thought of the verse — “but the cares of this life and the deceitfulness of riches choke out the word of God”.

When I thought of that I tried to take a step back and rethink what I was doing, to take some time for God in this world, to get more of the Spirit than the cares of this world.

Faith in Jesus is I think the answer to hoarding possession and being concerned with this world. Faith can bring a whole new attitude to living life and behaving. It is that we can’t take anything with us, so taking time out to consider the life that matters and how this impacts us now is in the end surely the way to go. More of God, less of cares.

  1. Inspiring blog post and it is very true. Thinking about the ills of this world and being engrossed on this bad cruel world takes the living out of of you, many are depressed because of thinking too much instead of us trusting God that he is the solution to all life’s problems.

Sure it is difficult to have the energy to move on in life after witnessing harsh events such as death and sickness but faith in God gives us something to hold on to.

    Great advice here🙏🙏
