In the maelstrom of bustling street-life, I am unperturbed,
Content in my way and yours
But we are all going the same direction.
Going and going on, never-ending,
Journey, stops and starts
Every day the same.
This is the life I have come to see, and love.
What about the ever-increasing void?
Seen in the stress in my voice? As I lay out my plan before you.
I saw an opening in the cracks through the skies
Of a shine that was coming through,
Promising me something more,
I wanted to catch and embrace it,
But it slowly drifted upward more
Until I couldn’t see it.
And again, we took to the streets,
To meaningfully engage the existence that we brought.
The opportunity to begin again,
Lately more than a puff of smoke from that old engine of mine.
